The team at UnGeek loved XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which was developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games in 2012. This turn-based tactical game of blasting aliens and trying not to get too emotionally invested in your team has earned the title of Game of the Year by some of the most recognized gaming websites in the world.
The good news for fans of the XCOM is that Fantasy Flight Games, makers of the awesome board games: Mansions of Madness, A Game of Thrones: Board Game, Arkham Horror, Citadels, and many other awesome board games, is bringing the thrill of XCOM onto our tabletops. It comes complete with an accompanying app (Free, of course) that helps push the pace and give you that sense of urgency as if playing the video game.
In XCOM: The Board Game, you and up to three other friends take control of the elite, alien-fighting organization known as XCOM. Do you and your friends have what it takes to save humanity?
We’ll give you a full rundown once a copy of the game becomes available and we get our hands on it. For now check out the Day 4 Gen Con that highlights XCOM: The Board Game.
