After long days of speculation and rumors on what exactly the direction and title of the sequel will be, Paramount Pictures and Michael Bay have announced that the next Transformers live-action film (which Bay is returning to direct) is officially titled “Transformers: The Last Knight” – which alludes to the ancient “Knights of Cybertron” order, which legendary Autobot leader Optimus Prime was shown to be a part of in the last film “Transformers: Age of Extinction“.

A teaser has also been revealed, showing off the logo and the face of what looks to be Optimus… Or is it his evil doppelganger “Nemesis Prime“? Either way, you know Autobots and Decepticons are going to continue their never ending way, either on Earth again or out in the cosmos.

According to Coming Soon.net, development for the new sequel is expected to begin on June 6 in Detroit, which will then move to various locations worldwide. Mark Wahlberg is set to return to the sequel as Cade Yeager, with Isabela Moner joining in as new female lead Izabella.

Transformers: The Last Knight will be released on June 23, 2017.
