Anyone who’s familiar with Until Dawn will feel (not) right at home with Sanatorium. Set in Blackwood Sanatorium and 60 years before the events of Until Dawn, the game puts you in the shoes of a patient who is suffering with amnesia, as you try gathering up the pieces of the puzzle and discovering who you really are…
Like its predecessor, the game lets you experience the story through tried and tested horror tropes, in attempt to mess with your subconscious. During the course of the game you will get to meet interesting people that you can engage with all sorts of ways. Additionally, it is good to know that the “butterfly effect” mechanic (in-game decisions that in the future can provide or alter significant events, story-wise) is back here, as it was one of Until Dawn’s best features before.
