Speedy performance and Android Nougat on a PHP8,990 phone?! That’s the OPPO A71 for you

If you’re the kind of person who, first thing in the morning, reaches for your smartphone and takes a #WokeUpLikeThis selfie, chances are you’ve seen (or you’re even a proud owner) of an OPPO smartphone. OPPO’s lineup of phones are all terrific selfie shooters, from the mid range A57, to the higher-end F3 Plus.

Yesterday, OPPO launched their latest entry to the selfie-shooter range, the A71. Aside from its selfie capabilities, the handset is being touted as a smooth and speedy phone that’s quite easy on the wallet.

 

And speedy it is! Running on an octa-core processor along with having 3GB of RAM, the A71 offers smooth day-to-day performance. The 5.2″ display-equipped A71 also runs on ColorOS 3.1 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. Running on Nougat not only gives you bragging rights to your ‘techie’ friends (it’s the latest Android version to-date after all), as it also has useful features such as a split-screen mode.

 

While Nougat is the base, ColorOS 3.1 is looking more and more like iOS. If you’ve ever used an iPhone, you’ll be right at home with the A71. Even the camera app almost exactly mirrors iOS devices.

 

Speaking of cameras, the A71 promises good photos with its 13 MP rear camera that has a 1/3.06 sensor size for better sensitivity. OPPO didn’t forget the phone’s selfie shooter, as the A71 comes with a 5 MP front camera with a bigger 1.4 µm pixel size for more detailed selfies.

 

And before we forget, the A71 is also quite the looker as well–especially at its price range. Featuring a polycarbonate uni-body design, the A71 has no antenna lines to be found. Its matte finish also helps give the phone a nice and fairly premium in-hand feel.
