The guys at OPPO Philippines had us tinker with their latest upcoming Philippine hero device, the OPPO F7. The next iteration of the famed F series, the OPPO F7 brings AI beautification of the F5 to a whole new level.
OPPO realized that mobile photography ranks among the top priorities and features consumers look out for when purchasing a smartphone device — especially ones that take amazing front-facing photos. Hence, the smartphone giant has been cornering that market for years dubbing themselves #theSelfieExperts when it comes to front-facing shooters.
And while this is really where OPPO is known for, they have been listening to the clamor of many for them to step up their rear camera photography game. And it seems, with the F7, they indeed listened.

We recently went to Boracay (before the forced shut-down) to test this gorgeous red machine out. Here are some sample shots taken with the OPPO F7.
Shot on just a 16-megapixel f/1.8 rear camera, OPPO has done some amazing coding with their color registry. The pictures look vibrant and crisp even with harsh lighting conditions.
The 25-megapixel f/2.0 front camera has built in effects like quirky stickers, panora and of course the AI Beauty Mode—similar to that of the F5 but works a little bit better…
…and with more tricks up its sleeve like built-in sticker emotes.
The fun thing? The effects work on the rear shooter as well.
OPPO understands that while internals make the phone, the external features should equally shine as well. We’re here to attest that this, folks, is the most premium-looking OPPO phone we’ve ever seen.
Sans the iPhone X notch, the form-factor is beautiful even though it’s not necessarily original. We’ve seen this mix of Gorilla Glass and Chromed Acrylic in other upcoming flagship phones from different brands and while I’d personally wish OPPO would go the all aluminum route, I also understood that it would mean increasing their prices significantly – something which a lot of people would frown upon on. To be honest, I didn’t get any “plasticky” vibe from the unit. The heft, compactness and above all the gorgeous crimson chrome finish gives the OPPO F7 major points in luxe factor.
The phone now employs a full screen touch panel moving the fingerprint scanner at the back. And while the notch does get in the way of a complete full screen experience, the reduced bezel makes up for it giving you as much as 6.23″ screen on a 5.5″ body.
We’ll look deeper into the OPPO F7 as the days progress, like how it can fare against various mobile games out in the market and other daily tasks. For now, we’ll leave you with a couple more photos taken with the rear and the front camera of OPPO’s upcoming new best seller.
The OPPO F7 will be available starting this April 19 and will be priced at Php 17,990!If you want to ensure that you’ll get one once it launches, Pre-orders wil be up by April 12. Keep it here at Ungeek for more news and update!
