From the Iron Throne to Mutant World

Bryan Singer, the director of the upcoming X-men: Apocalypse movie, just announced the new cast for three big characters in the film. These new talents have massive potential and we’re psyched and excited to see them on the silver screen to battle it out with Apocalypse!

Up first we have Sophie Turner who will play Jean Grey. She played Sansa Stark in the on-going Game of Thrones TV adaptation by HBO. While we feel she still needs to prove her acting chops, her stint in GoT has definitely made her globally recognizable. Hopefully she does the role justice in the movie.

Turner is the second GoT castmate to join Singer’s X-men universe. Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister in GoT) played Bolivar Trask, the creator of the Sentinel program, in last year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. It’s unsure though if he will make an appearance in the new X-Men movie.

As for what the future will bring for Turner, Sheridan, and Shipp as the new Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Storm for the X-Men Films, one has to wonder how those three will perform alongside the young Professor X and Magneto, as played by James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, and of course the returning Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy/ Beast. We’ll just have to wait and see what Bryan Singer crafts when he introduces Apocalypse, as played by Oscar Isaac.

X-Men: Apocalypse arrives in theaters on May 27, 2016
