If the tagline “Change Is Coming” is any indication, then fans of Marvel’s own First Family of Superheroes will bear witness to a very different and modern interpretation of one of the House of Ideas‘ greatest creations – The Fantastic Four.
Finally released by studio 20th Century Fox, the first teaser trailer comes after months of speculation, downplaying, and little-to-no material from Behind-The-Scenes. However, the first official production stills from the new reboot film were released by Collider, and following that reveal the studio decided to release the trailer before it gets attached with the Kingsman: The Secret Service next month.
As a reboot to the film franchise that’s directed by Chronicle helmer Josh Trank, The Fantastic Four supplants the former two Fantastic Four films from the early 2000’s directed by Tim Story and had stars Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis, and a pre-Captain America star Chris Evans as the four heroes with fantastic powers. It will change the origin story of how the characters get their powers, with the synopsis saying that “four people teleport to an alternate universe, which alters their physical form and gains them new abilities”. When the world is threatened by a former friend turned enemy, these four will have to use their powers to save the Earth.
And now, here is the first teaser for “The Fantastic Four”, which stars Miles Tellar as Reed Richards/ Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mera as Susan Storm/ Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm/ The Human Torch, and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/ The Thing. Playing their nemesis Victor Domashev/ Doom will be actor Toby Kebbell.
