Pretty much proving that the Marvel Cinematic Universe in television is expanding in its own right to include other comic book based terms and influences, Marvel Studios and ABC have released a brand new poster for their upcoming third season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, which promises to introduce one of the more recent and prominent sub-groups spawned from the organization – The Secret Warriors. As the poster shows, the familiar eagle logo of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division has been spray painted with “Secret Warriors”, clearly making viewers aware of the impending arrival of the team.

First introduced in 2008 during the events of Secret Invasion, the Secret Warriors are a team of super-powered individuals who have yet to realize their full potential. Assembled together by none other than Nick Fury, the team was led by none other than Daisy “Quake” Johnson – better known as “Skye” to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D fans, and are labeled as “Caterpillars” because of their ability to mask their powers to the public. Now, it appears that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting its own version of the team, with Phil Coulson and Skye searching the globe for its members during the events of the third season.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D will return on September 29.
