Since it was announced to premiere before the year ends and speculated to be attached to the upcoming new entry in the Star Wars saga that is “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, Marvel and Captain America fans NEVER expected that the very first public teaser materials for Captain America: Civil War would drop online for Thanksgiving week… But that’s EXACTLY what happened when stars Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. appeared as guests in Jimmy Kimmel Live and gave the entire world their very first real glimpse at the much anticipated sequel!

Inspired by the popular 2006-2007 Marvel Comics crossover event “Civil War”, Captain America: Civil War sees Steve Rogers/ Cap actually coming to blows with his Avengers teammate and friend Tony Stark, aka The Invincible Iron Man, when sides are drawn and ideologies are challenged. After the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron see Cap leading a new team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, a new international incident involving the superheroes puts them in the spotlight of concern over who’s accountable for collateral damage. Political pressures force the government to consider developing a system of accountability, and championing that program by surprise is none other Tony Stark/ Iron Man.

Steadfast in his commitment to defend humanity without government supervision, Captain America opposes the act and finds himself coming to blows with his fellow Avenger. Two teams are thus formed and find themselves choosing a side, and the reemergence of Bucky Barnes/ The Winter Soldier also adds tension to the air as well.
