One of the biggest fighting games of the past few years is getting sequel it deserves, as Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment, DC Entertainment, and Mortal Kombat creators NetherRealm Studios are pooling their talents once again to bring us the long awaited sequel to 2013’s “Injustice: Gods Among Us” with the appropriately titled “Injustice 2” – which was officially announced and presented with an epic cinematic trailer that features four well known members of the Justice League duking it out with each other, and the debut of a familiar super cousin of the Man of Steel as well!

Set to hit the Playstation 4 and Xbox One sometime in 2017, Injustice 2 will introduce new features that will “change the way fans play fighting games” according to NetherRealm Studios Creative Director and Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon. According to the game’s press release, Gorilla Grodd and the Red Lantern Atrocitus are set to join the game besides Supergirl, making the line-up a whole new dynamic roster consisting of DC Comics Heroes and Villains. The game will also promote a “gear system” that players can use to customize their favorite DC Characters.

Injustice 2 is set for release in 2017. With the Electronic Entertainment Expo happening next week, more details should arise for the sequel then.
