A Special Edition of upcoming 3DS remake Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia was just announced, as well as new details about how specific Amiibo figures will work with the game.

To those new to the franchise. Echoes is a reimagining of Fire Emblem Gaiden. Check out the video below:

This is what will be included in the Special Edition:

– A copy of the game

– A hardcover Valentia artbook

– Valentia “sound selection” CD

– A pin set featuring protagonists Alm, Celica, also Marth

– A reversible cover to resemble the box art of Echoes based on Fire Emblem Gaiden, which was only released in Japan.

May 19 will also roll out the Alm and Celica Amiibo figures, which will only be available in a $25 package. Nintendo said in a press release that these can be used to unlock “their own exclusive dungeons,” giving more ways to “earn items and level up your armies by defeating bosses.”

Adding to this, “Mila’s Turnwheel” option lets you use an Amiibo to sacrifice one of the two character’s HP during combat. Using it summons an AI-controlled “illusory hero” companion who aids you in your fights one turn.

Furthermore, as they level up, you can also save Alm or Celica’s stats to their respective Amiibo, which in turn boosts the summoned unit.

On the other hand, using any existing Fire Emblem amiibos in the Smash Bros. line  can summon an “illusory hero” of that character to also help you. All other “non-Fire Emblem amiibos” currently available can be used to summon a monster who assists you.

No word yet if this will be made available for preorder in the Philippines, so make sure to ask your friendly local game stores for availability.
