Based on a series of science fiction novels written by Yoshiki Tanaka, The Legend of the Galactic Heroes (LOTGH) is the story of humanity in the distant future, two interstellar factions the Galactic Empire and the Free Planets Alliance are engaged in a never-ending conflict in a war like no other. At the center of it are rivals Reinhard von Lohengramm and Yang Wen Li and there personal stories.
Last August 2015 it was announced that the title will have a remake to be produced by Production I.G. Checkout their 1st trailer below.

The first season will consist of twelve episodes and will premiere on April 2018 and to be continued in the theaters as a series of films in 2019.
