[UPDATE 5/24: Two winning T-shirt designs, including the Grand Prize winner, have recently been disqualified for violating the competition rules.]

Remember the Uniqlo UTGP 2019 announcement last October 2018? In case you missed it, the theme for the Uniqlo’s UT Grand Prix 2019 is Pokemon, and just recently, Uniqlo has revealed the winners of its annual t-shirt design contest. Among the list of winners are three tees from PH-based designers!

The Grand Prize winner is Li Wan Pei from China, with his winning Gyarados and Magikarp based design. The 2nd and 3rd placers are mizukilobyte from Japan and Emily from the USA, with their tees bearing Unown and Exeggutor-based graphics.

The Uniqlo UTGP 2019 winners were chosen by the following:

  • Tsunekazu Ishihara, President of The Pokémon Company
  • Ken Sugimori, Managing Director of Game Freak Inc.
  • NIGO® (UT Creative Director)

The Uniqlo UTGP 2019 Pokemon collection will be released in the US on June 24, 2019. No word yet on Philippine availability, though we expect the collection to be available in Uniqlo PH stores in June as well, given that previous UTGP collections were made available in the country.
