Huawei Launches this must-have entry-level Y6s before the Holidays

Before the Holiday truly sets in, Huawei snuck one last product release before people finish going through their Christmas Shopping list. This nifty entry-level is the latest in Huawei’s attempt at cornering every price market conceivable.

Priced conveniently at Php 6,990, the Huawei Y6s is an all-around phone that’s a decent choice for those looking for a first phone.

The Huawei Y6s is powered by a Mediatek Helio P35 MT6765, 3G of RAM and 64G of internal storage space. This configuration allows you to enjoy a ton of media at your fingertips. From taking photos, selfies, to watching video and playing your favorite mobile games, you can be assured that the Huawei Y6s can more or less allow you to enjoy your entertainment fill.

Speaking of cameras, the Huawei Y6s comes with a 13MP rear and an 8MP front-facing camera. We wished that the Y6s had at least 2 rear camera setups even if it’s just a 2MP depth sensor. But hey, even without it, the phone was able to take some pretty decent indoor shots.

We took a few samples here:

: Crisp details, but you’ll need to focus a bit especially without natural light

: Color reproduction is good — albeit a bit leaning on the ‘warm’ side of the color spectrum

: Phone struggles a bit on images with sharper light to dark contrast

Design-wise, the Huawei Y6s reminds me of the newer dual-tone Huawei P30 Pro that launched a few months back. The Orchid Blue colorway in particular sports the said dual-tone treatment while the Starry Black comes in classic black candy-bar finish.

During the launch weekend, avid Huawei buyers are treated to a slew of freebies when they purchased any of Huawei’s wide lineup of smartphones – including the Y6s.

A lifestyle pack apparently awaits those who would purchase the Y6s which includes a water bottle, a nifty data cable and a canvas tote bag all neatly packed in a Yuletide gift box.

As far as entry-level phones go, the Huawei Y6s is a solid option and a great last-minute inclusion in your Christmas shopping/wish list.
