A Suikoden convention is happening in the Philippines

Your 90's RPG nostalgia, in one place.

ONE Store Beta Now Available

The first RPG I have ever played on the PlayStation console was Suikoden by Konami. After migrating from 16-bit to 32-bit, it wasn’t that hard to look for a fix for those who have finished Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger multiple times.

And really, Suikoden (especially its sequel) was a real gem and a game way beyond its time. I would go back another play-through just to complete the 108 stars of destiny, which was a huge majority of the fun. That’s why more than 20 years after the game’s original release, I would not be surprised if the game still resonates with a lot gamers both old and new.

Now from the looks of it, a very passionate group of fans both local and international want to keep the fire burning and make this into an event. At a recent post from both SuiCon Philippines and SuiCon Inernational over at Facebook, they are inviting people from all walks of life to participate in the very first Suikoden-themed event in the PH happening this November. Take a look at their recent post below:

“A call to arms, SoDs from around the world!

We are proud to present to you SuiCon International 2020!

This event is the first of its kind….yes, a gathering of stars from all over the world! Organized by the good people of Hai Yo Master Chef, SuiCon International 2020 will take place on November 22, 2020 (Sunday, 10 AM to 5 PM) at the Fishing Village and Tea House of the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. THERE WILL BE GAMES! PRIZES! SPECIAL EVENTS! BOOTHS! FOOD! NANAMI ICE! And a ton of other cool stuff in store for you!

We know many international fans have been waiting for this information. We are currently in the process of finalizing our website where you will be able to buy your tickets and find more information about the event.

Coming to the Philippines to attend SuiCon is quite a huge undertaking….BUT WE GOT YOU, FAM! We have created a guide for all international fans interested in joining. However, due to Facebook limitations, we can’t put the guide here. That said, if you would like to receive a copy of our guide, please fill out this form and we will be e-mailing you the guide:

Stick around for more updates soon!”

The event is definitely open for everyone who wants to participate, so even if its the first time you’ve even heard of the game, you might want to check it out because who knows? You just might be the missing piece to complete the 108 stars of destiny!*

*(I would not want to think that the event is limited to just 108, though).
