Are you a PC gamer? Here’s how you can help fight COVID-19 with your gaming rig

Help in the fight against the coronavirus with your PC!

ONE Store Beta Now Available

Do you have a gaming PC with a capable GPU? If you do, then here’s your chance to help in the fight against COVID-19, a pandemic that’s gripping the whole world right now.

Last week, the subreddit r/pcmasterrace supported an initiative by Folding@home that allows gamers to lend their unused GPU computing power to help fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Interested? To start, you should download the Folding@home app and select contribute to “Any Disease”. By doing so, you’ll let the program use your GPU to aid in the analysis of the novel coronavirus, paving the way for possible therapies. Given the immense computational power required to analyze the virus, more people taking part in the initiative will be a big help.

Not sure if the program can be trusted? Don’t worry as NVIDIA is officially endorsing the project!

What’s more is that you don’t have to keep the program running 24/7 to help out. If you want to play games, you can simply turn the program off to use your GPU’s full power.

Interested? Find out more about the initiative at the official r/pcmasterrace thread. You can also visit the Folding@home website for more details on the project.
