Additionally, Cloud Strife was voted as best Final Fantasy character, which really solidifies him as the most popular and recognizable among all the FF characters. And with the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, expect more fuel for the hype.

“Return to Zanarkand” (from FFX) got best song, which I can’t argue. It really is a good piece.

Knights of the Round, on the other hand, was the most popular summon for the fans in the Boss/Summon category. Not surprisingly, Final Fantasy VI’s villain Kefka got 2nd place. For those looking for Sephiroth, he’s at number 10 on the list.

The poll got a whopping 468,654 votes in total. NHK covered 57 Final Fantasy games, around 3,300 characters, 4,400 boss/summon, and 2,900 songs on the duration of voting. Personally I would want to see FFVI and FFIX a bit higher but hey, they are still at the top 5, so I’m not actually complaining. Please do more of this, NHK!
