Bandai Namco recently announced Ace Angler for the Nintendo Switch, a portable console version of the popular Ace Angler arcade games. In case you aren’t familiar, Ace Anlger is a fishing simulator popular in arcades all over the world. The game’s Switch version lets players enjoy virtual fishing both at home and on-the-go.

Ace Angler for the Switch lets players use the Joy-Con as a fishing rod, complete with realistic force feedback and casting/reeling motions. As for game modes, Ace Angler for the Switch comes with the standard ‘Medal Mode’, a single-player ‘Adventure Mode’ to capture all the big fishes, and ‘Competition Mode’ that can be played by up to four players.

As a fishing game, Ace Angler has different kinds of fish to catch. In fact, the game features 50 new species (compared to the Ace Angler arcade version), meaning there are a total of 220 fishes to be caught.

To add extra immersion to Ace Angler’s gameplay, accessory company Hori is set to release a fishing rod peripheral for the Switch that’s priced at JPY 2,480 (around PHP 1,156). With this, Ace Angler players on the Switch will have an even more realistic experience.

Ace Angler will be available for Nintendo Switch with English subtitles and Japanese voice-over in Southeast Asia on July 21, 2020.
