Riot Games announces the Valorant SEA Invitational and the Valorant Pacific Open

SEA Valorant players will finally get a chance to show off their skills!

Heads up, Valorant players in Southeast Asia! Riot Games has just announced two upcoming tournaments in SEA, the Valorant SEA Invitational and the Valorant Pacific Open.

First up, we have the Valorant SEA Invitational. This tournament will feature six teams of five prominent content creators and personalities each from Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. The SEA Invitational will let these players show off their skills as they fight for the lion’s share of the USD 10,000 prize pool, as well as various prizes from Secretlab, Gigabyte, and Intel.

Aside from getting a shot at the prizes, the teams in the SEA Invitational will also duke it out for a good cause as Riot Games Southeast Asia will donate USD 10,000 to GlobalGiving’s Coronavirus Relief Fund as part of the launch of VALORANT in conjunction with the SEA Invitational.

The participants of the SEA Invitational include:

  • Luthfi Halimawan and Watchout Gaming from Indonesia
  • Soloz and MasterRamen from Malaysia
  • GlocoGaming and Ashley Gosiengfiao from the Philippines
  • Sombrero and Afiz from Singapore
  • Xargon and Hehe from Taiwan
  • Xcrosz and Badness Gamer from Thailand

Valorant Pacific Open

 

The Valorant Pacific Open meanwhile, is a series of regional tournaments starting in Early July 2020. The Pacific Open is SEA’s entry in the Valorant Ignition Series which aims to discover talented players and build global recognition for top Valorant teams.

Starting in July, 10 teams from Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore will face off in the Valorant Pacific Open for a big share of the USD 20,000 prize pool. The winners of each qualifier will then advance to the Valorant Pacific Open which happens in mid-August.

The Valorant Pacific Open qualifiers is happening on July 3, 2020 and is open to everyone. Registration is open from Tuesday, June 23, 2020 to Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
