ONE Store Beta Now Available

Every handset manufacture has dipped it’s hand (pun intended) into the smart wearables industry yet only a handful know what it truly means to produce what I believe is a quintessential smart watch. Huawei is one of those brands and the Huawei Watch GT is a by product of a company that wants to jampack as much tech as they can into a device while still maintaining decisive form and exceptional design.

You see, design, I feel, should be the driving force to create a really good smart watch and not just functionality per se.

We’ve seen Huawei improve upon the Watch GT and upped their ante with the Watch GT 2 released last year. This 2020, Huawei is improving upon the beloved smart watch again with the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro.

We got ourselves a unit here to check out and we’re dishing our initial thoughts on this beautiful arm candy from Huawei.

Overall Design

Following the large-face watch design of its predecessor, the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro fine tunes some the design element from the past two releases. Sure, it still has a large 46mm watch face and a very thin, very sleek metallic bezel that gives it a sheen of luxury. There are still two pushers pins (that acts as the power and function buttons) that can be found on side  of the bezel giving it a traditional timepiece feel (especially if you choose the right watch face for it) and the entire thing  sits on top of an almost gunmetal sub bezel that connects to the watch lug and, in turn, connects it to a dark charcoal silicon watch strap.

The color that we got is the Night Black and while I’m not a big fan of all black watches, this one is marvelously well crafted. Despite not having a leather strap (vegan or otherwise), the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro exudes class and confidence. The large watch face and the sublime strap gives it a confidence that’s usually found on heritage timepieces.

What’s interesting with the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro now would be the choice of materials used to craft this smartwatch masterpiece. Giving this a more luxurious feel, Huawei opted for choice materials raging from crafting the body in sturdy but lighter Titanium alloy, opting for a ceramic backing for a more traditionally polished feel and adding a Sapphire Crystal that renders your Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro all the more scratch resistant than before.

The choices infused in design alone is worth considering the Watch GT 2 Pro not just as a suitable smartwatch but as a suitable timepiece option in itself.

Of course, being a smartwatch, it does more than tell the time.

Key Features

The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro boasts of a myriad of functions ranging from an upgraded TruSeen™ 4.0+ Heart-rate monitoring, 100+ workout modes, a built-in GPS tracker, a blood oxygen monitoring system, sleep and stress monitoring (plus meditation exercises) and even good ol’ fashion altimeter.

The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro also has Golf and Skiing as part of the workout mode options giving you a robust set of exercises and sports to track and optimize with.

While, I’m pretty sure I won’t be using those any time soon (hello, Pandemic) but it’s a great option when you need it. Oh and as far as battery life is concerned, the Huawei GT 2 Pro boast that it can last for up to 2-weeks before you need to charge it again – and it also supports wireless charging. NOT BAD AT ALL.

If you’re keen on getting this, the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro retails for Php 11,990 – a very decent price for a smartwatch for of this caliber.

Huawei had a pre-order for the Watch GT 2 Pro thought that gives you around Php 7000+ worth of goodies. If you missed out on that, don’t worry as they have on-going promos for the entire November like from November 13 to 19 if you purchase a Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro via Lazada or the Huawei online store itself, it will come with a Huawei Freebuds 3i and Huawei Band 4e if you purchase the smartwatch on November 20 to 26.

We’ll test this out and give you guys our full review soon!
