Nioh and Nioh 2 remasters announced, releasing on the PS5 in February

The remasters will feature 4K resolution and up to 120FPS support.

ONE Store Beta Now Available

While the two Nioh games are already playable on the PS5 thanks to the console’s backwards compatibility, Team Ninja and Sony have announced that Nioh and Nioh 2 remasters are releasing for the PS5 on February 5, 2021.

The remasters of Nioh and Nioh 2 for the PS5 will feature all DLC packs for each game, as well as offer a range of technical improvements. Specifically, the remasters will support 4K resolution, up to 120FPS gameplay, and ultra-fast load times. Plus, players will also be able to transfer their PS4 save data to the Nioh remasters on PS5.

The Nioh and Nioh 2 remasters will be available as standalone purchases, or as a bundle in The Nioh Collection for PS5. Alongside the release of the remasters, the Nioh 2 Complete Edition will also release for the PS4 in February. This version of the game will come with all three expansion DLCs for Nioh 2.

PS4 owners of Nioh 2 will also get a free upgrade to the Nioh 2 remaster for PS4. Here are the free upgrade details:

  • Players that own Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition on PS4 can upgrade to Nioh 2 Remastered – The Complete Edition on PS5 at no additional cost.
  • Players that own Nioh 2 on PS4 can upgrade to the base game – Nioh 2 Remastered on PS5, and receive the PS5 version of any DLC expansions they own on PS4.

Take note though, Nioh 2 disc versions will only be able to avail of the Nioh 2 remaster free upgrade if they have a PS5 with the Blu-Ray disc drive.
