Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Impressions | Mid-Range Killer?

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi Note 10 Pro in the Philippines, and it's shaping up to be another near-unbeatable smartphone deal.

ONE Store Beta Now Available

Last month, we reviewed the Redmi Note 10, a budget smartphone from Xiaomi that ticks all the right boxes. Now, we got our hands on the Note 10’s more powerful sibling, the Redmi Note 10 Pro, a phone that will launch soon in the Philippines. We’re already quite impressed with what we’ve seen so far, especially considering its price point.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro in the Philippines has a price that starts at just PHP 12,590, it is punching above its weight, both in terms of looks as well as performance, at least on paper.

Speaking of looks, the Redmi Note 10 Pro looks quite unique thanks to its distinct camera module. Aside from the cameras, the phone also looks rather premium thanks to its glass-like back. Though take note that it is a fingerprint magnet, so we recommend using the clear case that comes inside the box.

Moving to the front, we have the phone’s 6.67-inch FHD+ display. Not only does it look great with its slim bezels and tiny notch, the Redmi Note 10 Pro’s display also uses an AMOLED panel, meaning it should display vibrant colors. On top of this, the screen also has a 120Hz refresh rate, making for a smooth user experience.

Now for the cameras, the Redmi Note 10 Pro packs a 108MP main + 8MP ultra-wide-angle + 5MP macro camera + 2MP depth sensor quad rear camera setup, as well as a 16MP selfie shooter. Having a 108MP camera in a mid-range smartphone is quite exciting, especially as this kind of camera is usually only reserved for flagships. Though we’ll have to test it out to determine if it delivers in actual use.

Powering the Redmi Note 10 Pro is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor, a capable SoC that, while not a flagship chip, should have enough power for today’s popular games. The processor is then paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (at least for our review unit); more than enough for most users. On paper, this new phone from Xiaomi should be quite a powerful unit, though we’ll have to run benchmarks and play games on it before we can give our verdict for gaming.

Aside from a 108MP camera and a capable processor, the Redmi Note 10 Pro also packs other premium features that aren’t usually found in more affordable mid-range phones. For one, the phone has dual stereo speakers; a feature that even some flagship phones don’t have. Then there’s the large 5,020mAH battery that has 33W fast charging support. Xiaomi even claims that the phone can charge to 59% in just 30 minutes.

With its premium set of features, the Redmi Note 10 Pro is already quite an impressive smartphone. Of course, it remains to be seen if it will deliver when we use it more for our full review. Though if the phone proves to be good in our tests, this new Xiaomi phone has all the makings of a killer mid-range device.
