The Elder Scrolls 6 will release after Fable, says Xbox boss

Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently revealed in an IGN podcast that the highly-anticipated Elder Scrolls 6 will release after Fable.

ONE Store Beta Now Available

According to Phil Spencer, executive VP of Gaming at Microsoft, the highly-anticipated Elder Scrolls 6 will release after Fable, meaning we will have to wait for more years before we see the next Elder Scrolls title.

Spencer revealed that the Elder Scrolls 6’s release was a ways away in a recent IGN podcast. There, he first mentioned that Avowed is Xbox’s highlight RPG, after which he mentioned that Fable will also be something that fans should look forward to. Finally, he said that Elder Scrolls 6 is “further out” than Fable, meaning it’s easily going to be years before we see more of the game.

Fable coming before the next main Elder Scrolls game shouldn’t come as a surprise. After all, Bethesda is still currently working on Starfield, a game that doesn’t even have a release date yet.

The Elder Scrolls 6 was originally announced back in E3 2018 at Bethesda’s press conference. Unlike the Skyrim reveal which came with a release date announcement, the Elder Scrolls 6 reveal was very much a teaser that just confirmed that the game is still happening, not an indication that the game is well into development.

When the game does release, The Elder Scrolls 6 will likely release only PC and Xbox.
