The D-Link Eagle Pro AI series is a new line of Wi-Fi devices that can help gamers solve their various internet connection issues.

ONE Store Beta Now Available

Having a good internet connection is simply a must for any and every gamer today. Not only do you need a reliable connection to play online without lag, but you also need good internet to download today’s games. Whether on PC or on console, game file sizes have ballooned to 50GB being the standard, with lots of games even needing to download 100GB of files to install.

Having a good internet plan is one thing, but you won’t be able to take full advantage of your internet speed without the proper setup. For example, you may have a 100Mbps connection, but if you are sharing a single Wi-Fi router between over five devices, you’re pretty much guaranteed to get some lag spikes, or possibly even connection drops. Another issue that we have definitely faced is having a dead spot where Wi-Fi is spotty and prone to drop. Finally, there’s the issue of a single router not being enough to give a Wi-Fi signal throughout the whole house.

That’s where the new D-Link Eagle Pro AI Series comes in. While a selection of Wi-Fi devices may not be a sexy as a brand-new GPU, in many ways, these are just as important, especially if you’re dealing with connection related issues that prevent you from getting the best gaming experience possible.

Solving the issue of Multiple Connected Devices

As mentioned above, we’ve had issues while gaming when lots of devices are connected. As someone who reviews smartphones often, I usually find myself connecting well over five devices to the standard ISP router, and in my experience, the router sometimes struggles, especially when the devices are downloading and/or streaming at the same time. This sometimes results in lag spikes or other connection-related issues while gaming.

With the D-Link R15 Eagle Pro AI AX1500 Wi-Fi 6 Smart Router though, this issue gets resolved. How you might be wondering? That’s thanks to Wi-Fi 6.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Wi-Fi 6 is the next generation of Wi-Fi which can reach a top speed of 9.6Gbps – for comparison, Wi-Fi 5 (the current standard) can reach 3.5Gbps. Of course, top speed isn’t everything given Gigabit internet isn’t widely available yet. But Wi-Fi 6 also has another thing up its sleeve, and that’s enhanced connection quality when multiple devices are connected.

With a Wi-Fi 6 router, you can connect more devices without the connection quality being compromised. So, even if your house has over 10 devices connected, the Wi-Fi 6 router can handle them without any internet connection issues popping up. In fact, the R15 has an AI Traffic Optimizer that will auto optimizes connection when the overall bandwidth demand is higher than subscribed broadband plan so that you will have a better experience.

Aside from this, the R15 router also has other AI features such as an AI Wi-Fi optimizer and AI Mesh Optimizer which help to improve and provide stable WI-FI connection. Voice assistant compatibility, perfect if you use Google Assistant or Alexa-enabled devices. And of course, this router has 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports and a dedicated Gigabit WAN Port, perfect for people with Gigabit internet connections and with beefy PCs. Finally, the router has the AI Parent Control feature which can let you set limits for certain devices. This is great as you can set a limit on Wi-Fi usage for your kids so that they don’t get addicted to the screen.

Solving Dead Spots

Having a quality router is important, but sometimes, one router isn’t enough. Even if you don’t live in a large house, chances are that there are spots in your place where the Wi-Fi connection is spotty; this can be caused by thick walls or unusual house/apartment design. While these spots can connect to Wi-Fi, the connection sometimes drops. In this case, what you need is a Mesh System such as the M15 Eagle Pro AI AX1500 Wi-FI 6 Mesh.

Not familiar with a Mesh system? Basically, a Mesh system is a set of routers that features multiple smaller Wi-Fi units that aim to eliminate dead spots. Generally, you can use a mesh system to replace a standard Wi-Fi router, or you can connect it to your existing router, though not all routers have mesh technology. A Mesh router also has only one access point for all the units, meaning you get a seamless connection wherever you are at your home.

Aside from seamlessly removing dead spots, the M15 from D-Link also has the same features as the standard router. This system also features an AI Wi-Fi Optimizer, AI Traffic Control, voice assistant compatibility, and a Gigabit Ethernet port.

Solving lack of Wi-Fi range

If you brought a R15 and found that you need to expand wireless further, you can easily on additional D-Link R15, M15 and E15 to expand and form mesh network.

E15 is a plug size design which can easily integrate into your hallway or places where you have limited space. Aside from being quick and easy to use, the E15 also has features such as D-Link Easy Mesh, AI WIFI and AI Mesh which smartly helps you set up your device for optimal connection quality, as well as handy Signal-Strength indicators which can help you place them properly. Plus, the Range Extender even has a Gigabit Ethernet Port – great news if your PC is far from your main access point.

If you have an existing router and do not want to change, the E15 is able connect to your existing router wirelessly too and then it rebroadcasts the signal. For example, you can setup the Range Extender to act as an access point for the second floor of your place. This solves the issue of Wi-Fi not reaching your game console inside your room for example. Though unlike the Mesh, the Range Extender does require you to join a different connection to your main router.

Aside from being quick and easy to use, the E15 also has features such as D-Link Easy Mesh which smartly helps you set up your device for optimal connection quality, as well as handy Signal-Strength indicators which can help you place them properly.
