gamescom asia is back for 2022, and it is happening from October 20-23 in Singapore.

Similar to last year’s event, gamescom asia this year is going to have a hybrid model. But unlike last year which had a physical event that was limited to a trade conference for industry folks, this year’s gamescom asia will have a physical Entertainment Zone that will be open to the public. Alongside this zone, the event will also feature a larger-scale physical Trade Zone, as well as online segments that will be available to watch worldwide.

The physical Entertainment Zone will feature in-person game demos, live shows, meet & greets, cosplay contests, and more. For health and safety purposes though, the full lineup of activities will depend on the prevailing local COVID-19 event guidelines.

To accompany the Entertainment Zone, gamescom asia will hold the PRIMETIME and STUDIO online shows. PRIMETIME will be held on 19 October as a pre-event online teaser ahead of the main event days from October 20-23.

Meanwhile, gamescom asia’s Trade Zone will have a much larger scale thanks to the recent easing of travel restrictions. This means more AAA and indie developers will be represented.

“It is the year for gaming events as gamescom and gamescom asia restart their physical formats, once again welcoming visitors to the show floor. We are very excited to bring back a festival atmosphere, of course within safe and calculated measures as we are not yet out of the pandemic, but overall, the enthusiasm has been evident amongst the community and industry,” said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director of Koelnmesse Singapore, the organisers of gamescom asia.

gamescom asia 2022 is happening on Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore from October 20 to 23, 2022.
