10 Reasons to Tune in to MPL PH Season 10

For one VeeWise is back! Yas, Kween!

ONE Store Beta Now Available

For Mobile Legends: Bang-Bang players and fans alike, the next coming days will be filled with excitement, dread, and possibly adulations or grief (depending on the performance of the pro teams you’re rooting for) as Mobile Legends: Bang-Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) starts Season 10 today (August 12, 2022).

With 10 seasons of professional mobile esports tournament,  we rounded up 10 easy reasons why you should definitely tune in to what could be one of the biggest (and grandest) MPL tournaments yet.

  1. The Return of VeeWise – Kiyembek to the King and Kween of Blacklist

The Kween is back! Yessir, the dynamic duo of Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario returns to the active roster of Blacklist International. Missed during Season 9 as the two were busy winning Gold for the Philippines at the 31st SEA Games. One of the best (if not the best) shout-caller in the Philippines, it’s the tandem of “OhMyV33nus” and Wise that helped Blacklist win MPL 8 and the last Mobile Legends World Championship (M3) in stunning fashion. Now that they’re back, can they bring Blacklist International back on top and be the champions of MPL Season 10?

2. MPL 10 goes offline (sort of)!

After 2 years of seclusion, online matches and generally not seeing daylight (kidding of course), MPL PH Season 10 finally makes the move to hold the Regular Season of MPL LIVE! The Regular Season will be held at the ICite Bldg. Auditorium, Mercury Avenue, Bagumbayan, Quezon City.

The regular season kicks off starting August 12 all the way until Oct 02 and happens every weekend (Friday-Sunday) within. 8 of the best teams in the country will battle it out in two best of three matches to secure spots for the Playoffs on October 20. Only 6 out of the 8 teams will fight it off on the Playoffs and win the coveted title as well as represent the country for the upcoming M4 World Championship.

Those who wish to watch the regular seasons may go to the venue but need to register, present a negative antigen test taken within the day, show vaccine card and observe all the health protocols to ensure the safety of everyone — including their idols. You can also avail of the antigen test kit on the venue itself for Php 150. The auditorium can seat a maximum of only 90 people at most so it’s highly encouraged for those will be attending to arrive at least 30 minutes earlier as tickets will be distributed at a first-come, first-served basis.

3. Who let the dogs out? MPL Personality Dogie enters the fray.

https://youtu.be/91Ac26IJIVE

As if MPL 10 needs more more excuse to make a spectacle, Setsuna Ignacio also known as Ako si Dogie is coming front and center and participating in-game as “BATUTE”. As part of the main five of NextPlay EVOS, can Dogie take the reins for the team this season and make a good start?

4. Code Breakers and Crown Control. Can RSG PH keep the Title?

Having won both the Season 9 of MPL Philippines and the 2022 MSC title, there’s a lot of pressure placed on RSG PH right now. Can they keep the title for themselves going into MPL 10 or will the current M3 World Champion and MPL 8 Champions, Blacklist International come in and take the crown for themselves? A lot of eyes will be locked in on these two teams in the next few months.

5. Hall of Legends – A look at 10 Seasons of MPL PH

With 4 years and 10 seasons running, MPL will revisit countless stories by athletes that have been forged in this gaming arena. The organizers will induct 10 MPL-PH athletes into the first-ever “Hall of Fame” aptly dubbed “Hall of Legends”. Fans are encouraged to vote as well when the time comes. So stay tuned to this announcement.

6. 10/10 in-game prizes await fans

Getting to the 10th Season is no joke and the MLBB Community should take much credit in making this happen as well. That’s why Moonton and the organizers will be rolling out various activities, giveaways, and prizes to give back to the fans.

Watch out for announcements on the MLBB app and follow the official pages for more information.

7. Estes M3 Skin is here to Slay!

We’ve seen previews of the Estes M3 Skin during the Blacklist Protocol Event but the item is now live on the current server as well. While you can’t outright purchase it yet, the superbly stylish Estes M3 Blacklist International Skin is currently conducting its pre-sale event where participating in said activities can reduce the cost of the skin down to 499 diamonds at the most. For 20 diamonds or 40 diamonds, you may also try the skin already prior to the actual sale of the skin on August 18, 2022. As an Estes user, the skin is drop-dead gorgeous with  flawless animation, SFX and sound effects. It’s audibly delicious with various tunes triggering with Estes’ skills.

8. Revisit old rivalries and forge new ones!

Every MPL or major tournament for that matter, we get to see the best MLBB teams showcase their talents, gaming prowess, and thirst for (mythic) glory. Rivalries have been forged and we’ll probably get to see a lot of heads clash like Smart Omega’s Kelra and Blacklist International’s OHEB as they meet in the battlefield once more. Who walks out with the best sniper monicker this time around? Remember Kelra’s SAVAGE Bea last Season?

Or how about opening the season with a poetic battle between Smart Omega and RSG PH. Is this a repeat of MPL 9 Grand Finals and/or MSC 2022 Semi-Finals? Will RSH PH retain their “Kingslayer” title or can Smart Omega finally push past this giant of a team? Lots of stories unfolding this season and we cannot wait to savor each and everyone of them!

9. Lakas Na10 To celebrates the strength of Philippine Gamers and Pools More Support from Corporations

Approaching its 10th Season, the tournament is still supported by top brand partners. Smart Communications, Inc. remains to be the official telco partner to provide the tournaments with high speed internet connectivity. Meanwhile, McDonald’s Philippines joins the pool of official sponsors alongside Samsung and Maya, making tournaments more fun by making deliveries of beloved McDonald’s food items easy through its McDelivery application. The fast food chain giant will also launch some activities for MPL-PH audience.
“McDonald’s Philippines is proud to continue supporting Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines for Season 10. With this year’s LAKAS NA’10 TO theme, we’re excited to partner with MOONTON Games in unifying and immortalizing greatness within the e-sports community. Through our McDelivery PH App, we will continue to power up the community as they pursue their great passion for gaming through delicious food accessible anytime, anywhere. All they need to do is to tap to order and we’ll take care of the rest.” said Oliver Rabatan, McDonald’s Philippines AVP for Marketing and Channels.
“We thank McDonald’s Philippines for our meaningful partnership to only give the best to our MPL Philippines community. Indeed, the strength of the league comes as well from our brand partners who share the same vision as ours in elevating further the ecosystem,” says Lee Viloria, MOONTON Games Esports Business Development and Partnerships lead.
Meanwhile, quality eyewear products provider EO Executive Optical joins TikTok and Secretlab as the official partners in esports.
As someone who worked in the gaming industry back in early 2000’s, non-gaming or tech brands coming to support the video game industry was a pipe dream. It’s not just a reality now but it’s a mainstay and that is something to celebrate, indeed.

10. Road to M4 – Which team will represent the Philippines on the World Stage?

Lastly, MPL PH Season 10 is the tournament to watch to finally determine who goes on the world stage and represents the Philippines at the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang-Bang World Championship on January 2023. The Philippines has won 2 World Championships back-to-back with Bren Esports winning M2 and Blacklist International winning M3. Is this RSG PH’s time to shine? Will they take the M4 trophy?

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, we have a few weeks of MLBB fun with MPL PH Season 10.
