Fallen Tear: The Ascension is an action-packed, side-scrolling ‘metroidvania’ created and developed right here in the Philippines, and from the trailer alone, you can’t help but feel the hype.

If you’ve been around Reddit as of late, you’ve probably stumbled upon their posts–and it’s a good thing you did. The fine folks at CMD Studios are cooking up something special, and it should definitely be on your radar.

Check out the trailer for the game here:

The game takes you on a journey to the vast magical world of Raoah, a place chock-full of dangerous beasts, corrupt gods, and a myriad of challenges that stand in your way of bringing balance back to this new, magical world.

The story follows Hira, a mysterious young boy who seeks the truth about his forgotten past. Fallen Tear features a cast of fully-voiced characters that you’ll meet on your journey–all of which are crucial in your growth as a budding, young hero.

There’s much to unpack with Fallen Tear, as the decisions you’ll make along the way will affect how your story unfolds. This roguelite-esque feature is a welcome addition to what appears to be smooth, seamless gameplay, and lovely aesthetics. The soundtrack kicks ass, too. Just had to say so.

Fallen Tear: The Ascension is set for release this year, with no specific date mentioned as of yet. For more information on the game, or the team behind it, you can check out their official website. You can follow their socials via Twitter and Discord as well.
