gamescom asia announces change in show format with fully online Entertainment Zone

Ahead of the event this October, gamescom asia announced that its 2022 event will get a change in show format with a fully online Entertainment Zone.

Originally, gamescom asia 2022 was set to have a hybrid format that will give gamers in the region a chance to experience new and upcoming games in person. Now though, the Entertainment zone is changing to become fully online given several factors.

Even though the event’s Entertainment Zone will be online, it still promises to showcase some of the biggest upcoming games for players to enjoy.

“We apologize to the fans who have been waiting to celebrate and interact offline with each other and their favorite games at the festival, and welcome them to join us for a borderless online experience this year. Our virtual shows will showcase up-and-coming games from Asia and beyond to a worldwide audience. Our STEAM event page launches this year and will offer game demos and previews, flash sales, and more for all to enjoy,” said the organizers.

As for the event’s B2B Trade Zone, this part of the event still promises to run as planned to give publishers and developers a platform to link up. Specifically, the Trade Zone will consist of an Expo area, a Trade Conference, Networking, and a Developer-Publisher-Investor Speed Dating event from 20 to 22 October.

“We are very encouraged by the interest and trust that companies have in gamescom asia. The team is doubling up its efforts to bring in a good variety of brands, speakers and networking opportunities to support the industry, and we hope to put forth a strong show this year,” said the organizers.

gamescom asia 2022 is happening on Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore from October 20 to 22, 2022. Meanwhile, online segments will be made available for all audiences on October 19 to 23, 2022.
