Sony drops a massive Leviathan Axe right in Central London

That's one way to make a statement.

London, United Kingdom – A massive replica of Kratos’ Leviathan Axe from God of War Ragnarok just dropped and hit ground zero next to the the London Eye, making a huge crack on the cement.

Naturally, a PS5 news crew was quick to respond on the scene.

The promo seems to be in line with the Sony’s “Live from PS5” event which is effectively a marketing push because of the PlayStation 5’s increased supply, celebrating the end of the console’s shortage.

PlayStation UK shared the announcement on Twitter:

“Breaking News – A GIANT Leviathan Axe spotted in London. Reports claim Kratos is furiously mashing Triangle in Midgard right now. #LiveFromPS5.

“If you’re considering seeing it in person, experts speculate the axe will be gone by Tuesday evening. (And please do not attempt to lift the axe, Kratos will be angry).”

The giant axe can be more appreciated during the night when you can see the more intricate details illuminate and trails of smoke can be seen underneath the cracks. Sadly, the crash site only had a 24-hour window for visitors and onlookers as the giant axe had to be recalled (by pressing triangle) to its worthy owner as of writing this.

Check out some of the images below taken from the fans who wanted to wield the Leviathan Axe and Mjolnir and get a piece of the action! (All pictures taken with consent).

Aside from the availability of the PlayStation 5, based on the Live from PS5 video some new announcements were seemingly teased. Will we be getting a new DLC for God of War: Ragnarok? How about a new Uncharted game that tells the story of Nathan Drake’s daughter? Though nothing was officially confirmed, everything is still up in the air but still, the future looks really promising from the next-gen hardware.

God of War Ragnarok is available now on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
