Taipei Game Show 2023 surpasses expectations, draws over 300k visitors

Taipei Game Show 2023 has come to a close, and it has exceeded expectations as it drew over 300,000 visitors from February 2 to 5.

Taipei Game Show 2023 has come to a close, and it has exceeded expectations as it drew over 300,000 visitors from February 2 to 5.

While Taipei Game Show was canceled in 2020 and continued in a smaller scale in the next two years, the event came back in its full scale this year, and it was a big hit. Visitors queued up early during the event days, filling up TaiNEX 1 from Thursday to Sunday.

Along with the in-person event, the Taipei Game Show 2023 Steam Sales Event also got a lot of attention, plus the streaming program also drew some eyes as it featured 6 episodes with game demonstrations and trailers.

Aside from the main event area which featured lots of booths for gamers to visit, Taipei Game Show was also a big hub for publishers and developers in the Asia-Pacific region. A total of 1,500 meetings were held with well-known figures of the game industry, including Shuhei Yoshida who judged and presented this year’s Indie Game Award.

The Asia Pacific Game Summit (APGS) also held 15 sessions which were presented and attended by various industry professionals from all over the region.

Finally, the last day’s events got a lot of interest thanks to various activities, including the ten-year anniversary of “Tower of Saviors” as well as the dance tournament of “Just Dance 2023,” among others.

The next edition of Taipei Game Show is expected to be happen in January 2024. More info will be revealed soon.
