A Man reincarnates as a Vending Machine in upcoming anime 'Reborn as a Vending Machine'

In what is probably one of the most outlandish anime premises, Reborn as a Vending Machine is an isekai that sees a man reincarnate into a vending machine.

The trailer for the upcoming vending machine isekai anime series was revealed recently, showing us just how ridiculous this new series is. Along with the trailer, its release window was also announced.

This series is a huge meme among anime fans online even before the show’s reveal. That’s because Reborn as a Vending Machine is based on a light novel of the same name that was released back in 2016.

The series’ ridiculous premise is described as:

After dying in a traffic accident, I find myself standing near an unfamiliar lake. My body won’t move, I can’t hear my voice, and when I try to shout in confusion, words that I never expected come out! I-it seems I’ve turned into a vending machine… How am I going to survive some fantasy world’s dungeon like this?!

This anime stars a guy obsessed with vending machine, but he then finds himself turned into one after an accident. To make things worse, he’s in another world. Aside from being unable to move, he can’t even communicate.

Luckily, he comes across an energetic hunter named Lammis who becomes his friend. This is because Lammis quickly falls for the vending machine for giving her delicious food. Soon, the unlikely duo begin their adventure in a fantasy world.

Isekai anime have become increasingly common in the last few years, so it’s no surprise to see more shows become experimental. Though it’s fair to say that this vending machine isekai might just be one of the most “out there” which hopefully will make it worth watching.

Reborn as a Vending Machine will premiere in July 2023. For now though, there’s no info yet on which platforms it will be available in outside Japan.
