Sonic Origins Plus announced, releasing this June

SEGA recently announced that Sonic Origins Plus and the Sonic Origins Expansion Pack DLC will be released on June 23, 2023.

SEGA recently announced that Sonic Origins Plus and the Sonic Origins Expansion Pack DLC will be released on June 23, 2023.

This new version of Sonic Origins comes with the base game, DLC, and bonus items unique to the physical version. Specifically, the Plus physical version comes with an original art book, a SEGA Genesis reversible jacket, and record-shaped rubber coaster for pre-orders.

Both the physical and digital versions of the Plus edition will also get the complete Expansion Pack DLC that includes the following content:

  • Plus Content Pack:
    • Knuckles (Sonic CD) and Amy added as playable characters, 12 Game Gear titles added
  • Classic Music Pack:
    • Additional songs for Sounds in the Museum (73 songs from Sonic Spinball, Knuckles’ Chaotix, and Sonic 3D Blast)
  • Premium Fun Pack:
    • Additional Hard Missions (11), Letterbox Backgrounds (10), character animations in the main menu (Sonic, Tails, Dr. Eggman), free camera view of the main menu island, and character animations in the music player

These inclusions make the new version of Sonic Origins the perfect package for those who don’t own the game yet. Though the Expansion Pack DLC will also be available to purchase for players who already have a copy of Origins.

In case you missed its launch, Sonic Origins is a a collection of classic titles featuring the ever-popular blue hedgehog. The games in the collection have remastered and enhanced with an abundance of new features.

Sonic Origins Plus will be available in physical and digital formats on June 23,  for the PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Meanwhile Digital versions will be available for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
