At AnimeJapan 2023 over the weekend, it was announced that the Spy x Family anime film will be released in December, with season 2 also coming this October.

Specifically, AnimeJapan 2023 featured a special stage event featuring the hit anime series’ voice cast. There, the new key visual for the upcoming anime film was revealed, as well as its December 22 cinema release in Japan. The film’s official title was also revealed which is Spy x Family Code: White.

While there aren’t a lot of details about the movie yet, the new visual does indicate that it will happen during winter. It also seems that Code: White will refer to a new mission that might involve Loid and the whole family.

In case you missed its reveal, the Spy x Family anime film was revealed back in December at Jump Festa. This upcoming movie will feature an original story by series creator Tatsuya Endo, meaning it will not be based on any story arc in the manga.

Of course, the main story will still continue with season 2 which was confirmed to air in October 2023. Again, not much has been revealed at AnimeJapan aside from its release date, but the previous teaser did share that the anime will adapt the Cruise Adventure arc in the manga.

For now, there’s no word yet on a cinema release for Spy x Family Code: White outside Japan. Though given how anime cinema releases have become common, it’s likely that we’ll see this film get released in the Philippines shortly after its Japanese theatrical run.
