Tekken 8 announces Ling Xiao Yu as a playable character

Bandai Namco has revealed Ling Xiao Yu as the 10th character to be included in the Tekken 8 lineup.

Since debuting in Tekken 3, Ling Xiao Yu has appeared in every subsequent Tekken game released. She has quickly become a fan favorite in the franchise being such a light-hearted character amidst a universe filled with family issues. And for those worried that she won’t appear in Tekken 8, this new trailer will allay those fears. 

Xiao Yu has a distinct fighting style that incorporates elements of Chinese martial arts, such as Ba Gua Zhang and Xing Yi Quan. Her moves are flashy, quick, and agile, making her a fun character to watch and play.

Given that the Tekken 7 iteration of Xiao Yu received a number of buffs, it will be interesting to see how it all fits into the new gameplay mechanics of Tekken 8 such as the Heat system. 

Tekken 8 will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC soon. Though there’s currently no word yet on a release date or window for the game.
