    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available for free this week

    In celebration of the Season 03 launch, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is free-to-play this week!

    To celebrate the launch of Season 03, Activision announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available for free this week.

    Specifically, the free play week for the game is happening from April 20 to April 27. During the free access week, players can try out six Core Multiplayer maps, four Gunfight maps, a Battle Map, and multiple game modes.

    Here is a list of all the maps and modes that will be accessible to Free Access players during the week:

    • 6v6 Core Maps: Farm 18, Shoot House, Shipment, Dome, Himmelmat Expo, Pelayo’s Lighthouse
    • 6v6 Modes: Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Grind, Gun Game, Infected, One in the Chamber, All or Nothing
    • Gunfight Maps: Alley, Blacksite, Exhibit, Shipment
    • Battle Maps: Santa Seña
    • Battle Map Modes: Ground War, Invasion

    As for Season 03, this new season sees the return of Gunfight, the game mode where players fight in 2v2 teams with randomized Loadouts, with the first squad to win six rounds taking the victory.

    In this mode, there are four maps which are designed for 2v2 play — Alley, Blacksite, Shipment, and Exhibit — and yes, they are all available during the Free Access.

    Plus, Warzone 2.0 players will also get to play Blacksite in Season 03, the new Gulag in Al Mazrah.

    Also part of Season 03 in Warzone is Pelayo’s Lighthouse, a map that features  maintenance buildings supporting the central Main Building and the lighthouse near its center.

    The Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Free Access is live now and ends on April 27 at 1 AM PHT. Though take note that an additional download is required to play.
