ONE Store Beta Now Available

As promised following the release of Season 4 last April, the new PvP/PvE Overwatch 2 event Starwatch is now live.

In case you missed its announcement, Starwatch: Galactic Rescue is the game’s first-ever PVP/PVE hybrid event. Here, two teams face off on a four-point Assault match on the Infinite Galactrius which is a modified version of the Horizon Lunar Colony Assault map.

Here, The Watchers led by Bonebreaker Doomfist, will attack the Infinite Empire which serves as the game mode’s defenders.

When queueing for the mode, players will choose to either join the Watchers or the Infinite Empire’s. There’s also an option for players to queue as a Mercenary to join a match as quickly as possible by joining whichever side is available.

During the game mode, players will need to take advantage of the Gravity Implosion Barrels throughout the map. Though the Infinite Empire can take advantage of special artillery throughout the map to help defend against the Watchers.

To further promote the game mode, a new comic Starwatch: An Echo of Hope was released. This comic tells the story that sets the stage for the new game mode.

There will also be an interesting player element. Basically, the total number of wins by the Watchers and the Infinite Empire will be tallied, and the most wins will determine what will happen in the second comic which will be released soon.

Along with Starwatch, there are also Cosmic event challenges for players. By completing challenges, players can unlock new cosmic cosmetics, including the Asteroid Epic skin for Wrecking Ball, along with 50,000 XP.

With this XP, players can get closer to completing the Premium Battle Bass to unlock the Mythic skin for Galactic Emperor Sigma. Plus, limited-time bundles are also available in the in-game shop during the event.
