Diablo 4 is a massive game that will only get bigger as time goes by. Running around from one place to another can get tiring and tedious when all you want to do in a game like this is to go straight into the action. Here’s a full guide on how you can get a mount in Diablo 4.

Mounts in Diablo 4

Mounts in Diablo 4 allow you to traverse areas much faster than you would on foot. You can summon them at nearly every location except dungeons. You can also perform a special dismount attack to engage in combat. You can customize your own mount with skins and different armor types as well.

Unfortunately, getting a mount in Diablo 4 is not as simple as it should be. You won’t be able to get one anytime soon in your playthrough. Instead, you’ll have to reach Act 4: A Gathering Storm before you can even unlock the quest that allows you to own a mount.

In the first hour or so of the game, you’ll reach the town of Kyovashad. Make your way to the stables and you’ll meet stable master Oskar. He and his horses are there but you can’t access any of it. Instead, you’re gonna have to do a few extra steps.

How to unlock mounts in Diablo 4

When you meet stable master Oskar in Kyovashad, you’ll receive the “Donan’s Favor” quest. You won’t be able to complete this unless you are in Act 4: A Gathering Storm. Progress through the game like you normally would until that point.

Once you reach Act 4, you’ll receive another quest titled “A Master’s Touch”. In order to complete this, go to the Cathedral of Light in Kyovashad to talk to Donan himself.

After speaking with Donan, make your way back to stable master Oskar. Talk to him and he’ll be giving you your first horse for free. This is called the Old Nell Steed. If you don’t like how this looks, you can also purchase 2 other horses, the Grey Steed and Mottled Steed, each for 20,000 gold.

Cosmetics for your horse can be earned in-game by completing different quests or world events. Another alternative involves you shelling out a couple of extra real-life bucks.

Yes, that’s right. Purchasable horse armor! Are there any The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion war flashbacks here? The Diablo 4 in-game store has a lineup of cosmetics you can purchase with real money. I will admit, they are some pretty cool-looking ones in the shop.

There you have it. A quick guide on how to unlock the mount in Diablo 4. Good luck out there demon slayers.
