Ahead of the anime’s TV and streaming release, the new Rurouni Kenshin anime will get a special screening in the Philippines on June 25.

In case you missed its reveal, this upcoming Rurouni Kenshin anime is essentially a reboot or remake of the classic 90s anime, and it promises to be a more faithful adaptation of the original manga.

And while it’s not a movie, the anime will get special premiere screening events in various countries around the world where fans can expect to watch the first couple of episodes of the show.

For the Philippine screening, ODEX Philippines announced that two cast members will attend. These include Makoto Koichi (Yahiko Myojin) and Taku Yashiro (Sanosuke Sagara). Also attending the screening is producer Masami Niwa.

The screening will happen at SM Megamall, and there are several ticket options to choose from. The most premium one is priced at PHP 2,150, and will include the following goodies:

  • 1 x Acrylic Stand set with collectible box
  • 1 x T shirt
  • 1 x Signature Card Set (4 designs)
  • 1 x Can Badge Set (4 designs)
  • 1 x A2 Poster
  • 1 x Japan Import Mini Shikishi

There will also be other packages available with more affordable prices, albeit with less freebies. Details about the packages can be found on the ODEX Philippines page.

The new Rurouni Kenshin anime is made by Liden Films and stars Soma Saito as Kenshin, Rie Takahashi as Kaoru, Taku Yashiro as Sanosuke, and Makoto Koichi as Yahiko.

The Rurouni Kenshin special screening in the Philippines will happen on June 25, 2 PM at SM Megamall.
