Computex 2023 is in full swing and it’s a bit of an understatement to say that we have been so excited with the things we’ve been seeing in the Acer Computex 2023 Booth. While many of you may not be able to be physically here in Taiwan for Computex, worry not as we’re here to share the things that caught our eye! Here are our 3 favorite things from the Acer Booth!
1. SpatialLabs ProDevices
Easily our personal favorite of the whole Acer Computex experience. If you’re a gamer then this could very well be the next level that we can be looking forward to. SpatialLabs is all about giving gamers the 3D experience WITHOUT any assistance from wearable accessories like 3D glasses. You read that right! 3D without the glasses and the wearable add-ons.
It’s beyond trippy to see all the particle effects and in-game debris just flying straight into your eyes. Acer was able to show us this 3D application to gaming cinematics, first person shooter games, and even RPGs like Octopath Traveler. We apologize if we can’t show these awesome graphics via pictures as its kind of a personal experience but TRUST US when we say that this was some next level shizz.
Hang on, though. In case you’re thinking we’re just talking about graphics, guess again! A special SpatialLabs booth demonstrated that this can really amplify your sound experience as well. We entered this booth and felt like we were in a surround sound set-up to match the glasses-less 3D visuals. The surprise? All of that sound was just coming from 2 Speakers — natively built on the Acer Predator Helios 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition.
The tech is more software driven than anything and while it’s still in Beta, we can expect Acer to roll this out to more devices soon.
There are some awesome developments to look forward to for gamers, my friends, and we can’t wait for more from SpatialLabs. If you wanna know more, feel free to check out our article here!
2. Vera Sustainable Gear
Sustainability is one of the big key concepts being propagated in COMPUTEX 2023. With global push to achieve zero net carbon by 2050, Acer is pushing themselves by making sure they hit the target by just 2035 according to a keynote address by Jason Chen, Chairman and CEO of Acer.
In preparation for this, Acer launched their Vero line, a specialized line of devices that uses a good percentage of Ocean Bound Plastic or Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) Plastics. For 2023, Acer released a host of Vero laptops from refreshed models of Acer Aspire Vero 14 to newer ones like the Acer Aspire Vero 15. There’s also a newly released Acer Vero W6m Wi-Fi 6 Routers. Most of the Acer Aspire Vero laptops utilize 30-40% PCR plastics and yet retain the same durability if it wasn’t. Plus, packaging is now made from 100% recycled materials. Win-win for both you and the Planet.
But what probably caught our fancy are the host of Acer Vero gears and peripherals like the Vero Essential 15.6-inch notebook backpack that looks absolutely amazing! Talk about doing your part in reducing overall carbon footprint while looking good at the same time. Yes? Yes.
3. Acer Swift Edge 16
Simply put – LIGHT. AF.
This laptop practically weight like NOTHING as it boasts a total weight of 1.23 kg. This alone may add further complications to the age old debate of what’s lighter – a kilogram of steel or a kilogram of feathers.
But hey, just because it WEIGHS like nothing means that it has nothing. This baby, light as it is, packs a 16-inch 3.2K OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, AMD Ryzen 7040 Series processors, up to AMD Radeon 780M graphics, and more. If you want a reliable laptop that won’t weigh you down, the Acer Swift Edge 16 is definitely the way to go! All we can say is that you need to try lifting this for yourself.
