Genshin Impact 4.0 Update finally brings players to Fontaine

We have finally reached this point after almost 3 years! Fontaine is the much-awaited country to visit in the upcoming 4.0 patch update for Genshin Impact as its culture and style have always been teased through quests and events during the earlier areas. Located north of Sumeru Desert, Fontaine is a stark contrast to the former as the latter features locations with vast amounts  of water! Quite apt as it does also serve as the domain of the Hydro Archon herself. Here’s a rundown of what we can look forward to in the Genshin Impact 4.0 update.

The recently released trailer teases us with 4 new characters the Hydro Archon herself, Focalors (the c is pronounced like an s and the s is silent), the magical sibling duo of Lyney and Lynette, and Freminet (who has such a cool name to match the steampunk diving gear). 3 more characters were also teased – a judge and 2 ladies in fancy dresses wielding swords – but we’ll need a bit more information on them. It also seems that Childe makes a comeback and will play a central role in the new Archon  Quest as well. Notably, it seems he’ll be using his electro delusion mask which we still hope becomes an actual mechanic in the game. Needless to say, it looks as if the cast of characters for Fontaine are looking to be quite interesting!

Aside from new characters, there’s a LOT of content to look forward to. Possibly the biggest feature of Fontaine has got to be the new diving mechanic! It seems that there is a vast underwater world waiting to be explored in this new patch. We will post more details as soon as they are released but it seems that gone are the days we run out of stamina before reaching the shores and drowning. I do wonder though if you’ll be able to dive in the waters of previous areas as well? And how big will this update be?

Lastly, there seems to be 2 new bosses: A fire crab and 2 dancing marionettes. We don’t know which feels more menacing but we’re sure that travelers will be able to figure out the patterns soon and dominate them for materials!
