Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.3 to release on August 30

HoYoverse recently announced that Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.3 “Celestial Eyes Above Mortal Ruins” will be released later this month.

This new update will bring a brand-new area called Aurum Alley which is Exalting Sanctum’s previously bustling commercial hub. Along with this, Version 1.3 will also add a Simulated Universe major update along with the highly anticipated playable characters Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae, Fuxuan, and Lynx.

To start, HoYoverse describes the update’s story and new area as:

In the unfolding story, Jing Yuan and Dan Heng united to vanquish Phantylia and resolve the Ambrosial Arbor crisis. Now, as the dust settles, the major part of the recovery effort is to help people get their lives back on track. In Version 1.3, a new area called Aurum Alley emerges, eagerly awaiting a much-needed revitalization. Trailblazers can weigh in by employing strategic logistics planning and efficient cargo organization to shape the alley’s destiny back to its former glory.

Meanwhile, in Version 1.3, Herta’s renowned Simulated Universe undergoes a remarkable upgrade with the introduction of “The Swarm Disaster,” which names after a swarm catastrophe from ages ago that Tayzzyronth, the Aeon of Propagation, caused. To uncover the intricate history and the confrontation between Tayzzyronth and other Aeons, Trailblazers will navigate through dynamically generated domains, face various challenges along the way, and hopefully unlock the thrilling “Path of Propagation” within the Simulated Universe.

Next, the update adds three new playable characters, with the first being an Heng • Imbibitor Lunae who is a five-star Imaginary-Type character following the Path of Destruction. This new character is unique as he can consume multiple Skills Points to unleash powerful abilities. With this, his basic attack can be enhanced up to three consecutive times. Plus, depending on the number of enhancements triggered, the basic attacks will transform into different forms. On top of these, Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae deals Imaginary damage to a single target and adjacent enemies with his Ultimate, all while receiving a fixed amount of Squama Sacrosancta.

Then there’s Fu Xuan from Xianzhou Luofu, a Quantum-Type five-star character following the Path of Preservation. What makes her special is that she can get a range of effects like damage reduction and health points reversal with her Talent. She can also absorb damage for her allies with Skill and unleash Quantum damage with her Ultimate.

Finally, there’s Lynx from the Landau family. Unlike the previous two, Lynx is a four-star character. She is also a Quantum-Type but follows the Path of Abundance. This means she has a variety of healing abilities that will benefit her team.

Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.3 will be released on August 30, 2023. This update will be highlighted at gamescom 2023 which is happening from August 23 to 27, 2023.
