OPPO Reno10 5G First Impression | Perfecting the Portrait

OPPO stepping their #ThePortraitExpert up with this series

ONE Store Beta Now Available

Before the year ends, OPPO is the local tech scene into another frenzy with the imminent launch of their latest Reno series, the OPPO Reno10 5G series. In the past, OPPO would stagger the release of each phone from the numbered series at the time, but for this particular release they’re dishing all 3 variants out at the same time: the OPPO Reno10 5G, the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G, and the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G.

This gives consumers better choices but also makes a huge statement from the brand. They’re quite confident that all 3 variants can pull their weights independent of one another and that each has a lot of unique features that will satisfy the intended audience for each segment.

This, of course, boils down to how great the base model is. Does the OPPO Reno10 5G have what it takes to lead the charge for this launch? Well, in a word, yes.

The new OPPO Reno10 5G Series brought back features that people missed during the last iteration – and added a few new things that should make the phones stand–out amongst their rivals.

Ready for you close-up?

The main unifying element found on all 3 variants is the unit’s telephoto portrait camera. For this series, OPPO is putting a lot of weight on the device’s capability to take gorgeous portrait pictures and/or videos. A dedicated telephoto lens makes up the main camera module of the latest Reno series. For the OPPO Reno10 5G, the camera is part of a mix involving a large 64MP main shooter with an OV64B image sensor, a 32MP Sony IMX 709 RGBW telephoto lens that has a 47mm equivalent focal length, and a 112° 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor ultra-wide camera. YES, the ultrawide camera is back folks!

The OPPO Reno10 5G’s telephoto portrait lens has 2x optical zoom which can help frame your subject better. The numerous filters allow you to temper depth of field and other interesting creative choices for better drama.

While the telephoto lens can only be found on the rear camera, what’s great is the filter options found on this camera setting is also present when you switch to the large enough 32MP front-facing camera with an OV32C image sensor.

The telephoto portrait also works on videos.

We found the images to be crisper and sharper after updating the ColorOS 13 Software to its latest version.

A Mid-range Marvel

Aside from the camera modules, the OPPO Reno10 5G sports a beautiful 6.7” AMOLED 3D curved screen. A feature once reserved for only flagship models. Yessir, we’re at the point where a lot of once flagship-only luxuries are now being made more available to a lot more people. The Screen also supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch-sampling rate for avid mobile gamers out there.

Go on full immersion with your favorite Kdrama/ Netflix binge/ YouTube sink-hole with the unit’s dual speaker setup for clear crisp sounds. And with 5000mAh battery paired with a 67W SuperVOOC Flash Charger, you can be sure to have hours of entertainment as the device is noted go from 0 to 100% in just under 47 minutes. Not bad.

The OPPO Reno10 5G, along with the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G, and the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G will officially launch on August 3, 2023. Stay tuned to our site for more stories on these devices.
