Five Nights at Freddy’s needs no introduction for most gamers. After all, this series is one of the most popular horror game franchises in the past decade thanks in large part to the original Five Nights at Freddy’s game becoming a huge hit thanks to popular Let’s Play YouTubers like Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, and Pewdiepie.

Thanks to its popularity the original has spawned numerous sequels and spinoffs. Now, the series is coming to the big screen courtesy of a live-action film from Blumhouse, the producer of horror hits like M3gan, The Black Phone, and Invisible Man.

For those who haven’t played the games (or haven’t seen Let’s Plays of it online), the film’s premise is described as:

“Recently fired and desperate for work so that he can keep custody of Abby, Mike agrees to take a position as a night security guard at an abandoned theme restaurant: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. But Mike soon discovers that nothing at Freddy’s is what it seems. With the aid of Vanessa, a local police officer (Elizabeth Lail; You, Mack & Rita), Mike’s nights at Freddy’s will lead him into unexplainable encounters with the supernatural and drag him into the black heart of an unspeakable nightmare.”

Five Nights at Freddy’s is coming to cinemas in the Philippines on November 1, 2023.
