ASUS Republic of Gamers unveils new lineup of laptops, the ROG Phone 8, and more at CES 2024

ASUS ROG unveiled a wide array of gaming laptops and more at CES 2024!

ONE Store Beta Now Available

CES 2024 is here, and ASUS ROG unveiled its latest gaming laptops, peripherals, components, and the long-awaited ROG Phone 8.

These new devices were shown off during the For Those Who Dare: Transcendence virtual launch event, and the highlights are no doubt the refreshed laptops, with the signature Zephyrus line even getting eye-catching new looks.

The laptop refreshes are of course another highlight, as well as the ROG Phone 8 which is the latest in ASUS ROG’s signature gaming smartphone lineup. Finally, a wide array of components and peripherals were revealed, along with the new first ever ROG NUC which is an ultra-small gaming PC.

New Zephyrus Laptop Designs

To start, we have the redesigned Zephyrus G14 and Zephyrus G16 which are now thinner and lighter. Plus, these laptops also feature the all-new Slash Lighting array on the lid for a sleek yet still customizable design element.

Both Zephyrus models also feature Nebula Displays with OLED panels that support NVIDIA G-SYNC. The G14 is powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 8000 series CPUs and RTX 4070 laptop GPUs. Meanwhile, the G16 has an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 185H and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU.

ROG Strix SCAR features new CPUs and ROG Nebula HDR Displays

Next, we have the refreshed 2024 Strix SCAR 16 and SCAR 18. The SCAR 18 packs the first 18-inch ROG Nebula HDR Display. Both laptops also offer upgraded Mini LED panels with over 2,000 discrete dimming zones and 1,100 nits of peak brightness. All of this while having new CPUs.

ROG Strix G16 and G18 Refreshed

Also getting a refresh is the Strix G16 and G18 which pack up to an Intel Core i9 processor 14900HX and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 laptop GPU. These laptops also have an array of premium features, including ROG Nebula displays, per-key RGB keyboards, and more. Plus, they also feature the new ROG slash pattern.

ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro

After releasing the ROG Phone 7 series last year, ASUS finally introduced the ROG Phone 8 line at CES 2024. Consisting of the ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro, these new phones promise unbeatable mobile gaming performance thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform.

The phones also feature a Rapid-Cooling Conductor for better cooling, a large 5500 mAh battery, a 6.78″ Samsung E6 flexible AMOLED display with a 165 Hz refresh rate, and a triple rear shooter setup with a 50 MP Sony IMX890 main camera. Plus, the phones have a new, eye-catching design that’s also made to be durable thanks to its IP68 water and dust resistance.

Introducing the ROG NUCĀ

ASUS and Intel teamed up for the new ROG NUC. Codenamed Scorpion Canyon, this new compact gaming PC promises great performance thanks to its Intel Core Ultra 7 or Core Ultra 9 processor as well as NVIDIA RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 Discrete Graphics, all while having an incredibly small footprint.

This makes the ROG NUC a promising gaming machine for users with space constraints but don’t want a full-size gaming laptop.

A bevy of new components and peripherals

The laptops and the ROG Phone 8 are no doubt the highlights, but ROG also revealed a range of new components and peripherals, including:

  • ROG Aura Monitor Light Bar ALB01
  • ROG Ergo Monitor Arm AAS01
  • ROG Maximus Z790 Hero BTF
  • ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 BTF Edition
  • ROG Hyperion GR701 BTF Edition chassis
  • ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-BTF WiFi
  • ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 40 Series BTF White Edition graphics card
  • GT302 White Chassis

The BTF components here are interesting as it’s a new lineup featuring a hidden-connector solution for better aesthetics and cleanliness — perfect for PC builders who want a sleek and stylish rig.

Finally, ROG unveiled four new peripherals to level up your gaming and streaming experience:

  • ROG Carnyx
  • ROG Keris II Ace
  • ROG Falchion RX Low Profile keyboard
  • ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova
