New Star Wars series ‘The Acolyte’ finally gets an official trailer

The Acolyte is a new Star Wars series set 100 years before The Phantom Menace.

After the release of The Bad Batch Season 3, Star Wars fans can look forward to The Acolyte, another upcoming series that just got an official trailer.

This latest Star Wars live-action series is an intriguing one as it’s set in the High Republic era — that’s 100 years before The Phantom Menace. The setting makes this a unique show even for long-time fans. After all, most Star Wars series are set either between Episodes 3 and 4 or 6 and 7.

The show’s premise is described by Disney+ as:

“In Star Wars: The Acolyte, an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past. As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.”

What also makes this a must-see is its cast. Starring as the Jedi Master Sol is Lee Jung-Jae, the popular Korean actor who is best known for his role as Seong Gi-hun in Squid Game. Also part of the cast is Amandla Stenberg, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

Star Wars: The Acolyte will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on June 5. The first two episodes will be released on premiere day, with new episodes set to be released in the following weeks.
