Star Wars Outlaws August release date confirmed

After revealing its launch window, Ubisoft finally announced the official August 30 release date of Star Wars Outlaws, the upcoming Star Wars action-adventure game.

To go along with the game’s official release date announcement, Ubisoft shared a new story trailer that gives fans a better taste of what to expect in this upcoming Star Wars game.

Star Wars Outlaws is shaping up to be a must-play for Star Wars fans as it’s a singleplayer experience that features third-person gameplay, an open-world, and branching dialogue.

As for its setting, the game’s story takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Specifically, it follows the scoundrel Kay Vess along with her companion Nix as they attempt a massive heist.

The game’s premise is described as:

During this era, the Empire’s rule is distracted by the rebellion that won’t quit, leading to a golden age for the underworld. As a skilled thief, Kay’s antics catch the attention of Sliro, the leader of a new, foreboding criminal syndicate Zerek Besh. After Sliro places a bounty on Kay’s head, Kay and Nix are offered their one shot at freedom – pull off one of the greatest heists of all time. Kay and Nix will need to navigate the underworld across the galaxy, building their reputation with legendary criminal organizations including the Pyke Syndicate, the Hutt Cartel, the Ashiga Clan** and Crimson Dawn to earn the support they need to finish the job.

Star Wars Outlaws is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 30, 2024.
