Tokyo Game Show 2024 held an event briefing in the Philippines, and there, the organizers highlighted the Selected Indie 80 program.

This event briefing happened on April 10, 2024, at Microtel, Pasay. There, gaming enthusiasts, industry folks, and members of the press heard from Tokyo Game Show representatives about what to expect at the upcoming event this September.

While there was lots of insight into what will happen on the show floor, perhaps the highlight of the briefing was the Selected Indie 80 initiative. This isn’t the first time that TGS is highlighting indie games as the event has had a dedicated indie game showcase area since 2013, though this is a major program that will give more indie developers a chance to show off their games.

Specifically, TGS announced that it will select 80 indie game developers to showcase their games for free. These selected devs will get a free both as well as support, giving them a platform to reach a wider audience in the region.

Entries for the program are open now until April 30 (Tuesday). More details about this initiative can be found on the official website.

Tokyo Game Show 2024 is happening from September 26 to 29, 2024, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
