And that's why you should always be careful with spoilers.

In what is no doubt an unexpected occurrence, a 50-year-old man reportedly attacked a co-worker who mentioned spoilers for the Oshi no Ko manga.

As reported by the Mainichi Shimbun, the Kyoto Prefectural Police has filed an assault charge against a man in his 50s who works at the Kyoto Legal Affairs Bureau. According to the report, the man was said to have physically attacked his subordinate after he was told an Oshi no Ko manga spoiler.

This was said to have happened on February 1st. At the time, the man in question was talking with a male subordinate of his who subsequently told him about the latest developments in Oshi no Ko. In response, the man said, “I don’t like having my story spoiled” (via machine translation), and he reportedly proceeded to grab his co-worker by the chest and kick him in the waist.

After receiving the report, the police began investigating the case. For now, what’s known is that the victim did not sustain injuries. When asked about the situation, the Kyoto District Legal Affairs Bureau declined to comment as the investigation is ongoing.

No one wants to be spoiled, especially with series that have lots of interesting developments. Though it’s fair to say that this was way too extreme of a reaction, at least if the case did indeed happen as reported.

Oshi no Ko Season 2 will premiere this July, but given this recent case, if you’ve already read the manga, make sure you don’t spoil what happens to co-workers.
