For commuters and cashless payment advocates, the beep™ card has been a staple since it first launched in 2015. Highly ubiquitous in urban areas where public transportation systems like trains, and buses, where many operate on a cashless basis, beep™ card can also be used to pay for services or goods when applicable. If you’ve traveled to other countries, it’s our local equivalent of Suica/ Pasmo card in Japan, or the Octopus Card in Hong Kong.

In a nutshell it’s a stored value contactless smart card used for fare payments on various transit systems and merchants across the country. It’s also being handled by AF Payments, a collaboration between the Ayala Group and the First Pacific Group, known as the AF Consortium.

If you’re tired of bringing coins and lining up for hours to purchase single-ride tickets in LRTs and MRTs then the beep™ card is definitely for you. AF Payments has made it easier for you to purchase and load your beep™ card as they roll out more points of contact for the consumer at large.
