Last May 23, 2024, HUAWEI Philippines formally launched their latest camera-powerhouse flagship phone, the HUAWEI Pura 70 Series. Changing the naming convention from P to Pura, HUAWEI shifts the paradigm to go beyond the camera hardware (while still making it one of the central features for the series). According to the brand, the shift in naming convention inspires the brand to seek “the purest form of impossibility”.  This is best seen with the redesigned camera module on the entire HUAWEI Pura 70 Series inspired by the Penrose Triangle  and bringing the convergence of fashion and function to new exciting heights. Well, taking Fashion Forward a step further, HUAWEI Philippines surprised us during the Gala launch of the Pura 70 series with more than the usual product launch fanfare.

Held at the Grand Ballroom of the Shangri-La Fort, HUAWEI transformed the area into an exhibit of capturing beauty, timelessness, and powerful imaging with the help from their own community, FotoMoto, VOGUE Philippines and Manila Bulletin.

Key celebrities, brand ambassadors, professional photographers, fashion icons, and the country’s taste-makers graced the celebration including HUAWEI Pura 70 users Jerico Rosale, Artist & Painter Kublai Millan, and VOGUE Editor Daryl Generican.

Designed to push the boundaries of smartphone photography and style, the event has reaffirmed the Pura 70 Series as the new standard for excellence in the mobile industry. It still currently sits atop the DXOMARK for Best Smartphone Camera.

A celebration on the Pure Power of Photography

Entering the venue, we were already greeted with visually-stunning photography taken by the HUAWEI Pura 70 Series. These are apparently crafted by Huawei’s own Community of Mobile Photographers. A mini product showcase can be seen before entering the event halls themselves. Within the product showcase, we were shown various scenarios where the HUAWEI PURA 70 Series would shine — Ultra Speed Snapshot and Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto Camera creating sharp images of even the most miniscule of objects.

And while we were happy taking photos of our tech creator friends and product showcases with the trio of ultra-powerful XMAGE Ai Cameras, the real treat is when these powerful optics are handed to professional photographers and mobile photography enthusiasts. Despite the constant hindrances imposed on the brand, HUAWEI has never seemed to slow down and continued to innovate with precision. The HUAWEI Pura 70 Series is a testament to that resilience and, I’d wager, is the backbone of the brand’s success.

The HUAWEI Pura 70 Series has a starting SRP of Php 47, 999 and goes all the way up to Php 79, 999 with pre-orders happening now until May 30th with the first day sale happening on May 31, 2024.
